In a world…
where movie trailer editing…
is an art form all its own…
one company…
knew what needed to be done…
and dared to go there…
BIG TIME.
Inspired by the magical, action-packed, and absolutely riveting movie trailers that rocked movie theaters and Apple TVs across the nation in the summers of 2009-2011, the Cybis creative team wanted in on the action. Our target: the 2012 FBLA National Leadership Conference promo. In an effort to break the mold for student leadership promos, we all agreed that a simple but dramatic trailer would really add mystery, intrigue and intensity to FBLA’s premier annual event.
The strategy: find a driving orchestral soundtrack worthy of a Hollywood tentpole feature, then combine it with potent, weighty copy, slow motion footage, strong (but simple) titles and one heck of a lot of floating particles. The result: we’d created, in just a matter of days, a bombastic, mindboggling trailer that gave the studio goose bumps on its maiden play.
Months later, we’d have the opportunity to submit several of our projects for judging in the 2012 Communicator awards – an award for successes in advertising, branding and video production. After several weeks of waiting, nail-biting and anticipation we got the letter we’d been waiting for! Our video had won an Award of Excellence in the category of promotion! It came with a nice shiny silver trophy.
We added it to our collection and agreed to never put out work that isn’t worthy of either silver or gold bad boys.
Cybis helped Visit Orlando celebrate its 30th Anniversary with an elegant environmental design, regal show graphics, and powerful evening of entertainment.
“What an awesome night! You outdid yourselves. We are receiving rave reviews. Yay!!! I can’t thank you enough for going on the journey with me and for all of your help and patience along the way. The room looked great and the production side of the event was amazing ”

We made a splash with these original print pieces designed for Georgia FBLA in the 2011-2012 academic year. From posters to brochures, programs and logos, we developed a bold “Dive In” brand.
Cybis made its way to Anaheim, California to produce the BPA National Leadership Conference for over 6,000 attendees. Through graphics, lights, and decor, Cybis turned the “Shoot for Success” NLC into a dazzling red carpet event!
BPA members experienced the A-list treatment as they stepped into the spotlight and onto the red carpet, welcoming them to the Anaheim Convention Center in style. Featuring a live emcee and randomly-selected audience members, celebrity-style interviews were shown live on screen across the web.
This show was so rewarding to work on because we were able to bring the big Hollywood awards feel to thousands of deserving students; making them the star of their own show. You could see their excitement as they were walking down the red carpet. I think it is all about providing the audience the best experience in an event and it was great to be able to deliver that.-Chase Simonds, Cybis Associate Producer
From the first rehearsal to on-stage performance, Cybis Stage Managers know how to host VIP talent and prepare them to confidently step into the spotlight. Bringing together executives from Fortune 500 Companies, government officials, and local business executives, Orlando EDC’s One Orlando Summit was attended by the best of the best. Highlighted by Jim Clifton, Chairman and CEO of Gallup, other VIP talent came from CNL Financial Group, Disney, the Orange County Mayor’s Office, Mears Transportation, any many others.
Hundreds of people wearing yellow and black gathered in Orlando to create the world’s largest human smiley face. Coinciding with World Smile Day®, Visit Orlando teamed up with Cybis to manage the special event’s logistics.
Amongst the participants, dressed in yellow and black ponchos, were travelers from across the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany and Brazil. The human smiley face was about the size of a basketball court and set the Guinness World Record for the biggest smiley face.
Cybis lead the full event’s logistics. First, we developed an innovative system to accommodate an unknown number of people and quickly organize them into the smiley face. The Guinness World Record authority has strict rules regarding the length of time to form and hold the shape, as well as rules against drawing on the ground. Thanks to Cybis’ system, we were able to pull this off flawlessly.
Team Cybis provided the official counters, official clock, aerial photography points, audio/PA support, event signage, and leadership during the event. We appreciate Visit Orlando’s trust in Cybis to help set a world record!
Cybis continuously strives to deliver cutting edge shows, and Washington DECA’s Fall Leadership Conference was the perfect time to introduce an interactive twist that would connect with the audience in a whole new way.
Cybis integrated text messaging into the shows in order to interact with the audience, let their voices be heard, and relay the students’ opinions to hundreds of other members. As the members entered the venue, their eyes were drawn to the screen where the graphics perfectly outlined how to get involved in texting. A simple text with their vote allowed the audience to choose the next music video played, and ultimately decide if rock, rap, or pop would be booming from the speakers. The “choose your own adventure” texting feature also allowed the audience vote on in polls such as selecting their favorite sports team and what they wanted to get out of their DECA membership.
“The integration of real-time text messaging into the sessions really excited the crowd. It was great to see nearly every audience member in the room pull out a cell phone to interact with questions asked on screen during the session!”-Chase Simonds, Associate Producer
The responses from the attendees not only got the entire audience involved, but most importantly it influenced the show script and led to a more engaging experience. Our production team was able to capture the real-time reactions of the audience members and deliver a presentation that was customized to the Washington DECA audience. The texting allowed the attendees to feel like they had a say in the show’s content while comparing their responses to those of their peers. The viewers quickly turned into show participants, which allowed for a heightened energy and excitement throughout the room.
In the Northwestern United States one skyline ascends above all others. When DECA’s Western Region Leadership Conference ventured to new heights in the home of the Space Needle, we knew our stage design needed to reflect elements of the iconic city.
Staggered structures of varying heights evoked the skyline of the Northwestern city. Glowing truss towers and vibrant, illuminated panels brought the elements indoors. An ever-scrolling view of the misty Seattle skyline cascaded through projection screens to complete the design.
What does it take to produce an event in one of the world’s top malls? We ventured to The Mall at Millenia’s Grand Court for an elegant evening with the Orlando Health Foundation to find out. One Night: In the Moment put attendees in the center of twelve LED screens for 360 degree video content. Reflecting the twelve points on a clock and the race against time experienced when a tragedy occurs, the event’s theme came to life in the physical space.
