Recruitment Campaign

For years, Cybis has partnered with National DECA – a global organization preparing students for careers in entrepreneurship and marketing – to design and produce its annual membership recruitment video. In the past, we’ve crafted sleek, glossy, highly polished videos; blending great videography, dynamic broadcast graphics and real interviews with actual student members to match DECA’s crisp brand image and tell the DECA story.

It was time to shake things up. We needed to break the mold and create something the student leadership industry hadn’t done before. Inspired by the Google Glass craze of 2013, we imagined a Glass-style, first person perspective video shot entirely by students. Like never before, prospective members would see DECA through the eyes of real members: networking, preparing for competition, shaking hands, winning awards and giving epic high-fives.

Shot on location at a huge DECA chapter just outside of Atlanta, Georgia and at the 2013 DECA International Career Development Conference in Anaheim, California, our team strapped cameras onto real DECA members’ heads for an eye-level perspective of the DECA experience.  With light graphics, a perfect soundtrack and the voices of members to guide viewers through the narrative, the promo quickly became the most viewed DECA promo in its history.

OK, Glass: Top that.

My words can’t do justice for Cybis’ performance – you just have to watch it! The bottom line is that Cybis delivers. Flawlessly.-Chris Young, National DECA High School Division Director

The most powerful design is often made up of unpredictable dichotomies: surprising and comforting, engaging and distracting. When we set out to design the DECA Western Region Leadership Conference (WRLC) “GO!” identity and promo video for California DECA and TRI Leadership Resources, we knew we’d have to play on this sense of opposites for the biggest visual impact.

We paired the theme’s single-word simplicity with the exact opposite – complexity.

California DECA is a modern, design-forward organization. When it was time to brand the WRLC, we wanted to represent individuality amongst members, yet convey the power of DECA students working together toward a common goal.-Clayton Carter, Cybis Creative Director

Inspired by the destination feel of the Anaheim event and DECA’s spirited community members, we framed up a logo that celebrates collaborative diversity with fresh, sunny California-themed branding. the result is nothing short of fun-in-the-sun. So get ready to GO full speed, GO forward, and GO wild with our bold new design for GO! The DECA Western Region Leadership Conference!

A memorable, tailored animation that integrates seamlessly with the timepiece and zodiac theme of the Grand Court, bringing that world to life on the screens. We pull the wonderful textures from the existing mosaics in the center, such as constellations, calendar ticks, as well as a vortex of fish and leaves that swirl together on the floor. This memorable piece captures the unique sophistication and theme of the center, honoring the movements of time and the stars, and serve as a tribute to the Mall at Millenia’s distinct design.

This video captures The Mall at Millenia’s international shoppers as their faces light up when we spotlight their respective zodiac signs with visual imagery as well as the names of the zodiacs themselves. Encouraging audience participation and serenading them with relaxing music, like waves from the sea, this video runs in the Grand Court of the world famous mall.

This captivating promo video set the tone for an exciting, magical adventure for the Business Professionals of America’s National Leadership Conference.

I’m inspired now! Can’t wait to see what happens on stage if this is only the beginning. Everyone loves it – thanks a million! -Shawna Gfroerer, Business Professionals of America

The Epic Adventure

Against a simple, dark background, two mysterious orbs of liquid metals stretch and “drip” sideways around the screens. As they approach each other and finally meet, the elongated globules are quickly pulled and condensed together. The resulting shock wave reveals the Mall at Millenia logo formed from the remnants. Soundtrack is ambient and dreamlike.

The LED display at the Mall at Millenia’s Grand Court invites viewers to examine it more closely as the elements start out very abstract and gradually reveal what they are over time. The choice of metals reflects the high fashion and lifestyle of the Mall and its patrons; reflected in gold, silver, and bronze.

The atmosphere for Orlando EDC’s One Orlando Summit was transformed. Using state of the art technology, Cybis created a projection mapping stage design to offset the VIPs presentations. Dynamic content faded across the real life objects, corresponding to specific blocks of information. Since everything was video, the stage design was able to adapt and change dramatically to visually support the content being discussed.

In addition to the many prestigious speakers and panel of experts, a new identity was unveiled on Cybis’s stage design, proclaiming “You Don’t Know the Half of It!”

It’s normally pretty hot in Florida, but that didn’t stop Cybis from creating a chilling Identity for Colorado FBLA’s upcoming State Leadership Conference. The theme this year is “Achievement in Motion.” Cybis took the “conquer the storm” approach and put FBLA students right in the middle of it. This identity is filled with blizzard like conditions but still manages to symbolize inner strength, willpower, and unity. A FBLA flag stands strong at the top of the mountains as a sign of hope. So put on your heaviest jacket, and enjoy some collateral from Colorado FBLA’s Achievement in Motion.

At Cybis it’s all about the audience experience. As over 1,600 high school students gathered for Washington DECA’s Fall Leadership Conference, we didn’t ask for phones to be turned off. We made mobile part of the story.

Encompassing the year’s conference theme, Venture, Cybis traveled beyond the borders of traditional technology to debut an exciting, interactive software that attendees were able to download to their personal mobile devices. Using a state-of-the-art app, students had the ability to control what they saw and heard next by voting and participating in live polls. As answers were swarming in live, the scripts were adjusted in real-time to correspond with the audience results. Those who were most active using the app were even granted an exciting opportunity to participate in the hypnosis show that was a part of the conference’s entertainment session. Attendees were also able to access exclusive content only available on a mobile device.

Just as leaders should, they had the power to change what lay before them and truly venture above and beyond.
